TypeScript

TypeScript is a strict superset of JavaScript. It uses JavaScript syntax, but has the benefit of static typing and classes. Its syntax is a little harder to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is easier to read and maintain than JavaScript. And it is great if you want to write code that is readable to the reader, rather than understandable to the compiler.
